In Norton, Mashonaland West province of Zimbabwe, the company has setup a football club, MWOS Football Club (MWOS FC), an amateur, community-based football club that is giving youths a chance to showcase their football talent. This initiative was born out of the need to have youth-focused activities in Norton that would help develop talent and in the long run feed talent into the national team. The idea of creating local football stars would help a lot of youth to have some individuals to look up to, who are role models in sport and help deter other young adults from the ills of drug abuse, crime and misdemeanours. This initiative gave every youth in Norton a chance to show that they have what it takes to be on the football pitch and in the process creating role models to whom other youth look up to for inspiration. The goal was to also entertain the fans with good football and attract other big names in football, both teams and individuals to the doors of Ngoni Stadium in Norton.

One full season in Division One has given the team experience for the upcoming season

MWOS FC's initiative has successfully rallied young men from various neighborhoods of Norton, including Katanga, Ngoni, Nharira, and Maridale, around the beautiful game of football. In partnership with the Norton City Council, MWOS has played a key role in the revitalization of the community football grounds in Ngoni, a venue where the club proudly hosts its matches. This collaborative effort has also seen the establishment of a stadium canteen within Ngoni Stadium, providing food and refreshments to supporters on match days and fostering a vibrant community spirit.

Having spent a full season (2023) competing in the Northern Region Soccer League (Division 1), MWOS FC is now gearing up for its second season with ambitions that stretch even further. The club's goal is to secure a promotion into the highly esteemed Premier Soccer League (PSL), marking a significant step up in competition and prestige.

MWOS FC's tenure in Division 1 football has been characterized by notable success and growth, both on and off the pitch. The team's compelling performance in the ZIFA Mashonaland West Division 2B Football League previously showcased their potential, and now, having solidified their place in Division 1, they are undeniably focused on climbing even higher. The combination of a talented squad and the strategic insight of the technical staff is seen as a key formula for achieving the much-desired promotion to the top flight.

Local support for MWOS FC has surged in response to the team's achievements and aspirations. Fans from Norton and beyond have increasingly thrown their support behind the team, buoyed by the club's success in Division 1 and its mission to elevate Norton’s presence on the Zimbabwe football map. As MWOS FC enters another season in Division 1, the community's excitement and backing are more palpable than ever, underscoring the deep connection between the club and its supporters as they collectively dream of Premier Soccer League glory.

MWOS FC was the brainchild of the directors of the Moor’s World Of Sport who saw it fit to form a completely new entity and start from the bottom and include the community as much as possible.

MWOS FC was the brainchild of the directors of the Moor’s World Of Sport. They saw it fit to form a completely new entity and start from the bottom and include the community as much as possible. Out of these deliberations MWOS FC was born in the month of September, 2019. Unfortunately a few months down the line COVID-19 spread through Zimbabwe and the rest of the world and all sporting activities were put on hold to avoid the spread of the virus.

A Remarkable Debut Season in the Northern Region Soccer League

MWOS FC concluded their inaugural campaign in the Northern Region Soccer League (NRS League) in an impressive fourth place. This achievement not only surpassed expectations but also set a solid foundation for the club's aspirations in professional football.

This first season in the NRS League was a testament to the club’s dedication to excellence and community, a journey that saw them competing with seasoned teams and proving their mettle on a broader stage. The club's journey to the fourth position was marked by thrilling matches, showcasing a blend of tactical prowess provided by the coaching staff and the raw, untapped potential of its players. Against the backdrop of the refurbished community football ground in Ngoni, where the team played its home matches, MWOS FC demonstrated time and again that they were a force to be reckoned with.

Finishing fourth in their debut season is an accomplishment that resonates far beyond the confines of the league standings. It marks the beginning of MWOS FC's ambitious journey towards becoming a staple in Zimbabwean football, with sights now set even higher for the future.

This journey, however, is more than just about football. It's about community, youth empowerment, and laying the groundwork for a future where Norton is not just seen as a town in Zimbabwe but as a nursery of footballing excellence on the national map. As MWOS FC prepares for the next season, the spirit of Norton stands firmly behind them, ready to cheer them on towards even greater heights
