Promising form in the MWOS FC camp
With the first half of the season coming to an end, there seems to be an improvement in form in the MWOS FC camp. With two matches left until the season break and possibly the opening of the transfer window, there seems to be a bit of urgency to get more positive results from the Punters.
The Punters pulled off quite the performance against Commando Bullets FC last weekend. Commando Bullets are known for their resilience and strength at home. The Punters surprised the hosts by striking first through the familiar feet of Aurthur Banda. The striker has shown up for the Punters many times this season. He has so far managed to net five goals with more to come. MWOS FC put pressure on the hosts for the greater part of the game and almost led by two goals in the second half, but Commando Bullets goalkeeper was in form to keep them out.
With twelve minutes on the clock, the hosts found a weak spot in a very solid MWOS FC defense and struck one home to level the scoreline. The Punters walked away with a point from a very competitive game. The players put on a good game and were unlucky to concede late in the game, according to the sentiments of most of the fans and the coaching staff.
Most of the players seem to have a sense of urgency and a desire to compete at the highest level. The Punters want to captalise on chances and score as many goals as they can in the next two games so as to reach the half of the season on a high. Head Coach Lloyd Mutasa is optimistic that his boys can produce the results the fans desperately need. The Punters face PAM FC on Saturday, June 24, and it will be on the Punters agenda to get maximum points.
