Makaruse hat-trick fires MWOS FC Queens past Dynamos

MWOS FC Queens made a spectacular return from the mid-season break, annihilating Dynamos Queens 5-0 in a ruthless exhibition of attacking football at a jubilant MWOS Ngoni Stadium last Saturday, August 2nd. Parlatiah Makaruse emerged as the undisputed star, netting a devastating first-half hat-trick to set the tone for a dominant Northern Region Women’s League display.

The Punters came flying out of the blocks, firing on all cylinders from the first whistle. Makaruse needed just five minutes to open her account, capitalising on early pressure to put the hosts in front. The floodgates threatened to burst open moments later when Tawananyasha Mandishara doubled the advantage in the 8th minute, leaving Dynamos shell-shocked.

Makaruse, however, was far from finished. Demonstrating a predator’s instinct, she struck again in the 11th minute to complete a breathtaking opening salvo and effectively kill the contest before it had truly begun. Her dominance continued, and she secured a magnificent first-half hat trick with her third goal in the 39th minute, sending MWOS into the break with an unassailable 4-0 lead.

The second half saw MWOS manage their advantage with professionalism. The icing on the cake arrived via the penalty spot, with the reliable Thandiwe Musa stepping up to coolly convert and round off a comprehensive 5-0 scoreline, sealing Dynamos’ misery.

Post-match, MWOS FC Queens Head Coach was understandably elated. “We are happy to return from the break and collect maximum points in this fashion,” she beamed. “Five goals, four in the first half—that’s the kind of result that would make any coach proud of her players, and I am really proud.” The performance showcased the team’s hunger and clinical edge after the hiatus.

When pressed on Makaruse’s standout contribution, the coach heaped praise on her striker while emphasising the collective effort: “She has a good eye for goal,” the coach stated. “While the whole team played as a unit and got a good result, she was a standout. Scoring a hat trick is a good thing for a striker, and I hope she continues scoring.” Makaruse’s lethal finishing was the hallmark of a commanding team performance that sends a strong message to the rest of the Northern Region Women’s League.
