Murambiwa Inspires Commanding Victory as U19s Climb the Table
MWOS FC’s U19 side delivered a statement performance last Friday, securing a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Chinhoyi Stars to significantly boost their prospects of avoiding relegation from the Northern Region Soccer League.
This commanding win forms part of a positive run of form for the Young Punters, who have now moved up to tenth in the table after spending much of the season battling for consistency. The result provides crucial momentum as the campaign enters its final stages.
The match was ignited early on when MacSean Murambiwa opened the scoring in the 7th minute, settling any nerves and giving the young side a foundation of confidence. The contest’s decisive turning point arrived in the 23rd minute, as Chinhoyi Stars were reduced to ten men following a red card, allowing MWOS FC to seize full control of the fixture.
Edson Moyo capitalised on the numerical advantage, doubling the lead a minute before the halftime whistle to send the hosts into the break with a firm two-goal cushion. The second half continued in a similar vein, with Murambiwa adding his second of the afternoon in the 57th minute to complete a well-taken brace and put the result beyond doubt.
Munashe Chirara then put the finishing touch on a dominant display, netting a fourth goal in the 68th minute to ensure all three points were secured in emphatic fashion.
U19s Head Coach Joseph Takaringofa was full of praise for his squad’s application. “We are happy,” he stated. “After such a performance and a clean sheet, there is little you can say but to give the boys credit for a standout performance.”
The team will look to build on this impressive result and continue their climb up the table in their upcoming fixtures.
