MWOS builds bridges overseas to expand Player & Coach Development opportunities
MWOS continues to strengthen its international development strategy by building meaningful partnerships with European football clubs, creating new pathways for young players and coaches to gain valuable overseas experience.
Football development goes beyond player training and coaching education. It also involves establishing strong international connections that allow emerging talent to experience different football cultures, environments, and professional standards firsthand.
As part of this vision, MWOS’s Head of Development is currently on a European tour, engaging with clubs and football representatives interested in exploring Zimbabwean and broader African markets. These discussions focus on providing MWOS players and coaches with opportunities through work-exchange programmes, training placements, and overseas trials.
During this tour, Adrian Ștefănescu met with his former colleague, Adrian Mihalcea, and his technical staff at UTA Arad, one of Romania’s most historic football institutions, widely known as The Old Lady of Romanian football. UTA Arad boasts a proud legacy in European competitions and has recently gained strong recognition for its academy and the successful development of young players now competing at top European levels.
The discussions centred on a potential partnership that would include work placements for MWOS coaches and players, shared development methodologies, and clearly defined pathways for young MWOS talents to progress within the European football system.
MWOS is committed to opening international doors for its players and coaches, ensuring they are exposed to high-level football environments that support long-term growth and professional development.
