MWOS FC Appoints Wilson Mutekede as Technical Director

MWOS FC would like to announce the appointment of Wilson Mutekede as the club’s new Technical Director. Mutekede brings a distinguished record of football development and management to Norton, aligning perfectly with the club’s long-term vision for sustainable growth and elite performance.

In this role, Mutekede will oversee the club’s technical strategy across all teams, with a particular emphasis on integrating the academy pathway with the senior squad. His appointment signals a firm commitment to building a cohesive football philosophy from the youth levels to the first team.

“I am delighted to be joining MWOS FC at such an exciting stage in its journey,” Mutekede said upon his appointment. “The club’s achievements in recent years, including a remarkable second-place finish in its debut top-flight season and a Chibuku Super Cup semi-final appearance, provide a fantastic foundation. My primary focus will be on development—creating a clear pathway for our talented boys and girls to progress from our academy to the PSL and beyond. It is my passion to see future national team players emerge from this project.”

He also paid tribute to the club’s supporters, adding, “To the fans, I say thank you for your incredible passion. You are the lifeblood of this club. I will dedicate myself to building a team that makes you proud and gives you even more to celebrate.”

Mutekede’s extensive experience includes a six-year tenure as Technical Director of the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA), where he was instrumental in coaching education and grassroots programme development. His club career features technical management roles in the Zimbabwean top flight with Caps United FC and Kiglon FC, complemented by coaching positions at Shabanie Mine FC, Starbill FC, and Twalumba FC. A proven developer of talent, he has organised numerous CAF licence courses and FIFA grassroots festivals throughout his career.
