MWOS FC Bolsters Midfield with Signing of Globetrotting Moffat
MWOS FC has secured the services of experienced midfielder Abubakor Moffat, adding valuable depth to their engine room. The 27-year-old arrives as a free agent following an extensive Spanish football education, most recently with CF Motril in the Tercera Federación.
Moffat brings a wealth of continental experience to Norton, having plied his trade at multiple Spanish clubs, including CD Almuñécar City, Vélez CF, and FC Malaga City Academy, since 2018. The former Zimbabwe youth international’s technical pedigree and tactical understanding of European football systems make him an intriguing addition to Lloyd Mutasa’s squad.
“This represents an exciting new chapter,” Moffat told club media. “The coaching staff’s vision immediately resonated with me, and I’m ready to contribute to MWOS’ objectives.” His arrival comes at a crucial period as the club is battling it out at the top of the Premier Soccer League log.
Head coach Mutasa emphasised the strategic importance of the signing: “Midfield control wins matches. Abubakar’s experience gives us another dimension in our playmaking options.” The gaffer’s comments suggest Moffat will compete for minutes in central areas alongside existing personnel.
Assigned the number 17 jersey, Moffat represents MWOS’ growing ambition in the transfer market. His signing follows the pattern of recruiting technically gifted players with international exposure, signalling the club’s commitment to playing progressive football.
For Moffat, the challenge is clear: translate his Spanish football education into consistent performances that can propel MWOS up the table. With PSL fixtures coming in, the midfielder has an immediate opportunity to stake his claim in Mutasa’s plans.
