MWOS FC IS COMMITTED TO EXCELLENCE

As part of its strategic development plan, MWOS FC continues to explore opportunities within the European football market. Our representatives are engaging in daily meetings with professionals across the game, with the aim of enhancing youth development and strengthening coaching education within our club.

A MWOS FC delegation, including Lloyd Mutasa, Wilson Mutekede and Adrian Stefanescu, is currently visiting the Etihad Campus, home of Manchester City FC. Discussions are taking place regarding a potential partnership, while our technical staff are attending training sessions at the British club. The delegation attended this weekend’s fixtures, including Manchester City Women vs Leicester City Women, Manchester City U18 vs Manchester United U18 and the FA Cup match between Manchester City and Salford City. Assistant Coach Joseph Takaringofa is expected to join the delegation early next week.

“I have done some work with Manchester City in the past and have followed the club since the days when it was on the brink of bankruptcy, long before it was taken over by what is now City Football Group. It has been fascinating to observe how, despite the significant investment that followed, the club did not win trophies immediately. Instead, it demonstrated patience and long-term commitment, investing steadily not only in first-team development but, most importantly, in its academy.

The club focused on recruiting and educating high-quality staff and coaches while building the right environment and infrastructure; what we now see at the Etihad Campus is something truly unique in the world. This long-term vision has laid the foundations for Manchester City’s sustained success.

It proves that with small but consistent steps in the right direction, great achievements can be accomplished over time. I strongly believe that by adopting a strong European work ethic, modern methodologies and discipline, we can not only improve our players and coaches but also build a club with a solid foundation and contribute to shaping the future of Zimbabwean football,” said Adrian Stefanescu, MWOS FC Development Manager and former Premier League agent and scout.
