MWOS FC Thrash Kwekwe United to Maintain Top Spot
MWOS FC delivered a commanding performance on Saturday at MWOS Ngoni Stadium, securing a 4-0 victory over Kwekwe United to remain firmly at the top of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League standings.
From the first whistle, the home side were determined to stamp their authority. Within the opening five minutes, MWOS created several promising chances, but the Kwekwe defence managed to hold on. The pressure soon paid off when, in the 11th minute, Billy Veremu confidently slotted home from the penalty spot to put MWOS ahead.
Relentless in attack, MWOS continued to press deep into the Kwekwe half. Their persistence was rewarded again when Veremu found the net for a second time, further asserting the dominance of the league leaders. The first half ended 2-0 in favour of the hosts, who had entered the break brimming with confidence.
In the 54th minute, Jeremiah Makangira and Arthur Banda combined brilliantly in midfield to spark another attack. A precise final pass from Mudzuka found Veremu, who coolly completed his hat-trick, sealing an unforgettable individual performance.
As the match drew to a close, MWOS were not finished. In the 90th minute, Tafadzwa George added the fourth goal to cap off a complete team display and send the fans into celebration.
The result keeps MWOS three points ahead of their closest challengers, Scottland FC. Their next test comes against GreenFuel FC, who currently sit eighth, as MWOS look to keep their title hopes on course.
