MWOS Set for Kwekwe Clash – Complacency Not an Option
This weekend, MWOS FC prepares to face Kwekwe United away in what promises to be another test of our unbeaten run in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.
Still perched at the top of the table, the Punters remain unbeaten with six wins and five draws from eleven games. But the last two fixtures have reminded us that nothing comes easy in this league. Against Manica Diamonds, we had to dig deep to salvage a draw, and just last Saturday, we mounted a thrilling comeback from 2-0 down to share the spoils with TelOne. These were reminders of the fine margins in football.
Kwekwe United may be sitting at the bottom of the table with just one win, four draws and five losses, but that solitary victory came against Dynamos – a sign that underestimating them would be a costly mistake. Their league position doesn’t reflect their fighting spirit.
With this in mind, the big question ahead of Sunday’s match is whether coach Lloyd Mutasa will rotate the squad or stick with the starting XI that showed such resilience last weekend. Resting key players could be wise, but every point is crucial as we aim to maintain our lead and build momentum.
We may be league leaders, but football has a way of humbling those who let their guard down. Expect focus, fire, and fight from the Punters as we look to extend our unbeaten streak.
