NRSL Returns: MWOS FC Under-19s Ready for the New Campaign
The Northern Region Soccer League (NRSL) returns on Saturday, February 28, as MWOS FC Under-19s begin a new league campaign following weeks of focused preparation at MWOS Ngoni Stadium.
The young side enters the season with renewed clarity and ambition, building on lessons learnt last year while remaining firmly aligned with the club’s long-term vision of development and competitive growth.
Preparation and Direction
The return of Head Coach Wonder Ngoko to the Under-19 setup has added continuity and experience to the programme. Having previously worked within the MWOS FC system, Ngoko brings familiarity with the club’s philosophy and a clear mandate to guide young players through an important stage of their development.
Squad Planning and Recruitment
MWOS FC Under-19s approach the new season with a balanced squad strengthened through targeted recruitment and internal progression. The coaching staff have focused on building depth across key areas while maintaining a clear pathway for advancement within the MWOS FC structure.
Defensive reinforcements include Brandon “Dembele” Nyamandu, Ryan Chapfika, Patrick Manyoni, Leeroy Zhawu, and Tinashe Nyatsambo, adding solidity and competition at the back.
Midfield options have been enhanced by Keane Maravanyika (central midfield) and Tendai Chisenzere (defensive midfield), while attacking creativity and width arrive through Tanaka Maseko (attacking midfield) and Takudzwa Duncan (left winger).
Lessons from Last Season
Last season proved demanding, particularly in its early stages. However, a strong improvement in the second half highlighted the squad’s resilience and capacity to respond under pressure. That experience now serves as a foundation for improved consistency and stronger starts in the new campaign.
Opening Fixture
The Under-19s will open their NRSL campaign with a local derby against Chingwere FC, a fixture promising intensity and competitiveness. The match will provide an early test of the squad’s readiness and cohesion under match conditions.
Looking Ahead
As the league commences, MWOS FC Under-19s step into the season guided by structure, leadership, and a shared commitment to growth. Under the stewardship of Wonder Ngoko, the focus remains on steady progress, strong performances, and representing the club with pride throughout the campaign.
