MUTASA: “TIME TO MOVE ON AND FOCUS ON THE NEXT GAME”

Head Coach Lloyd Mutasa has called for focus and a strong home performance as his MWOS FC side prepares to host Triangle United in a high-stakes Chibuku Super Cup semi-final this Saturday.

Addressing the media ahead of the clash, Mutasa acknowledged the recent league defeat but emphasised the squad’s determination to seize the opportunity for cup glory.

On bouncing back from defeat:

“We are trying not to let past results get into our heads,” Mutasa stated. “The loss to Scotland was bitter, but we need to move on from it and focus on the games that are left to play. We still have a chance to lift some silverware this season, and we need to focus on that. The players are unfazed, and they know that losses happen in football; all we need to do is move on from it quickly.”

On the importance of home support:

“The fans have been amazing, and we are appealing to them not to tire in supporting us. We are home, and we hope to win the game,” Mutasa said, underlining the value of a strong home advantage at a packed MWOS Ngoni Stadium.

On team selection and Wilson Mensah:

“We have been noticing a lot of improvement from Wilson. He is strong on the ball and makes a lot of difference when he goes onto the pitch. We will see how the team trains, and we will come up with a line-up.”

On the threat of Triangle United:

“They are a good team, and having Genesis Mangombe as the coach makes it an interesting game with all the experience he has. When you look at where he took Triangle from and where they are now, you will see how much quality they have. We are going to have to be at our best to get over them.”

On the semi-final pressure:

“I have lost my fair share of semifinals, and they are very important. How you win them also sets the tone for how you approach the final. If we can get into the final, we will be one step closer to getting some silverware in our first season in the elite league.”

CONFIRMED TEAM NEWS

MWOS FC: Lloyd Mutasa reports a fully fit squad with no injury concerns or suspended players.

TRIANGLE UNITED: The visitors will be without the suspended trio of Ali Maliselo, Jordan Pedra (both red cards) and Aaron Zeka.

THE OPPOSITION: TRIANGLE UNITED

Guided by the experienced Genesis Mangombe, Triangle United have shown significant quality this season. However, they arrive at MWOS Ngoni Stadium severely hampered by the suspension of three key players, which could disrupt their rhythm and defensive solidity.

Get behind the boys! A packed MWOS Ngoni Stadium can be our 12th man as we push for a place in the final.
