The Punters continue to invest in the future as the club’s developmental pathway takes centre stage through another successful in-house training programme.

Developing talented footballers requires more than training sessions; it requires meaningful opportunities to learn, compete and grow.

That philosophy was on full display today as MWOS FC hosted another successful in-house training programme, bringing together the MWOS FC Queens, Under-17s and Under-19s in a series of competitive training matches as part of the club’s Continuous Development Programme.

The initiative forms a key pillar of MWOS FC’s long-term vision of preparing young players for the demands of senior football while ensuring every team embraces the club’s distinctive “Moudzanaudzana” playing philosophy.

Throughout the session, the three squads faced one another in different match formats tailored to the objectives of their respective coaching staff. By exposing players to varying levels of competition, the programme challenges youngsters to adapt, improve and develop in an environment that mirrors the demands of competitive football.

More importantly, the initiative strengthens the pathway from the academy to the senior ranks, ensuring that every player understands the expectations, style of play and culture associated with wearing the MWOS FC badge.

Technical Director Wilson Mutekede believes programmes like these are essential in shaping the club’s future.

“This is part of our Continuous Development Programme, where our different tiers compete against one another to improve their performance by facing varying levels of competition, while also instilling the ‘Moudzanaudzana’ playing philosophy throughout the club. Our Under-17s, Under-19s and Queens are all taking part in this initiative, and we are pleased with the progress being made.”
