MWOS FC Connects Continents at TransferRoom Deal Day in Madrid

MWOS FC proudly represented Zimbabwe and African football this week at the prestigious TransferRoom Deal Day in Madrid. The exclusive networking event brought together senior decision-makers from over 250 professional clubs worldwide, including European giants such as Manchester United, Manchester City, Atlético Madrid, and Juventus.

Throughout the event, MWOS FC representatives engaged in one-to-one meetings focused on player transfers, football development, scouting, and strategic partnerships. The club stood as one of the few representing the African continent, alongside Mamelodi Sundowns.

MWOS FC Football Operations & Development Manager Adrian Stefanescu emphasised the importance of connecting local talent with the international market to build sustainable transfer routes.

“TransferRoom gives clubs direct access to some of the biggest football organisations in the world,” Stefanescu noted. “Realistically, it is unlikely that a player will move directly from the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League to the English Premier League. Our responsibility is therefore to build the bridges that can make those pathways possible.”

Stefanescu added that European representatives specifically acknowledged and appreciated MWOS FC’s efforts in opening Zimbabwean football to the global market through data and video platforms like Hudl, Wyscout, Eyeball, TransferRoom, and Transfermarkt.

Highlighting the club’s long-term vision, Stefanescu noted that sustainable success requires consistent investment in infrastructure, youth development, and coaching education, rather than relying on budget alone.

“We are extremely proud that five of our own players, including several born and raised in Norton, have already attracted interest from European clubs,” Stefanescu stated. “Seeing a young player from Norton representing MWOS FC, Zimbabwe, and eventually competing in European football would mean even more than winning a trophy.”
