MWOS FC Prepare for Dynamos Showdown at MWOS Ngoni Stadium
MWOS FC will host Dynamos at MWOS Ngoni Stadium in Norton on Sunday, 12 July, for a highly anticipated Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Matchday 22 fixture.
We head into this weekend’s encounter looking to secure a positive result in front of our home fans and return to winning ways against one of the league’s established sides.
This fixture presents a significant test for the club as we continue our Premier Soccer League campaign.
Securing maximum points on Sunday will be crucial to halting our recent run of results and strengthening our push up the log standings for the second half of the season.
We currently occupy ninth place with 27 points from 21 matches, having recorded six wins, nine draws, and six defeats.
Dynamos arrive in Norton sitting in third place with 37 points, boasting nine wins, ten draws, and just two defeats across their campaign.
Recent form shows we have collected one win, two draws, and two defeats in our last five outings, while the visitors are unbeaten over the same period with two victories and three draws.
Despite suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat away to Bulawayo Chiefs last weekend, our squad delivered a highly encouraging performance.
We controlled large spells of possession, dictated the tempo through the midfield, and consistently forced the opposition onto the back foot.
Providing an update on the squad’s preparations, Head Coach Lloyd Mutasa expressed satisfaction with the team’s application in training.
“So far, so good; the boys are raring to go,” the head coach noted.
Acknowledging the threat posed by the visitors, Mutasa highlighted their recent dominant form.
“You look at Dynamos; in their last game, they won by four goals to nil. We are all aware of that,” he stated.
“They played good football, and I would want to believe it’s better meeting a Dynamos side when they are in the state that they are today.”
Reflecting on the desire to bounce back in Norton, the coach emphasised the importance of utilising our home advantage.
“Obviously, when you are playing at home, looking at our last fixtures, we lost against Highlanders here, and against Bulawayo Chiefs, we want to try to redeem ourselves at our own home ground,” Mutasa explained.
Drawing inspiration from past encounters between the two sides, he backed his squad to rise to the occasion.
“If my memory serves me well, the same Dynamos started doing well last year when they beat us at Rufaro; they were not at their best,” he recalled.
“We are saying we are not doing well, and we are meeting Dynamos. If they won that match at Rufaro last time, what can stop us from winning here at MWOS Ngoni?”
Dynamos will undoubtedly present a formidable challenge, bringing experience, defensive solidity, and the confidence of an unbeaten five-match run.
However, Sunday presents the perfect opportunity to demonstrate the continuous progress we are making in the top flight.
Backed by the incredible support of our home crowd at MWOS Ngoni Stadium, we are fully focused on translating our possession into goals and delivering a strong performance.
With valuable points at stake, the entire club is ready for a highly competitive Castle Lager Premier Soccer League clash in Norton.
