MWOS FC U17 Cruise Past Dzinochekwa FC with Commanding 4-0 Victory

MWOS FC U17 produced another impressive display as they eased to a convincing 4-0 victory over Dzinochekwa FC in a dominant performance that showcased their attacking quality and defensive discipline.

The Young Punters wasted little time stamping their authority on the contest, controlling possession from the opening whistle and dictating the tempo of the game.

Their bright start was rewarded in the seventh minute when Carlos Mutapiri calmly found the back of the net to hand MWOS FC U17 an early advantage.

The hosts continued to pile on the pressure, moving the ball confidently and forcing Dzinochekwa onto the back foot.

Tevez Ncube doubled the lead in the 16th minute with a well-taken finish after another flowing attacking move.

Just three minutes later, Mutapiri turned provider as he whipped a low ball into the area for Tinashe Mafunga, who applied a composed finish to make it 3-0.

Ralph Charuma nearly added his name to the scoresheet midway through the first half after driving towards the penalty area from a tight angle, but he was stopped before he could get his shot away.

The U17s continued to threaten from set pieces as Alex Matariro delivered a dangerous free kick into the box, but Dzinochekwa managed to clear the danger.

Brian Vareta came close to extending the advantage shortly before the break after breaking through on the left, only for the goalkeeper to deny him before Matariro’s resulting corner was cleared.

The Young Punters went into the halftime interval with a deserved three-goal cushion after a commanding first-half display.

Coach Tendai Nyathi refreshed his side at the start of the second half, introducing Munyaradzi Chibvongodze and Admire Mangoma in place of Tinashe Mafunga and Brian Vareta.

The substitutes made an immediate impact as Mangoma caused problems down the right flank with his direct running and dangerous deliveries into the penalty area.

Moments later, Chibvongodze showcased excellent footwork on the left before driving into the box, although the visitors managed to clear the danger.

Mangoma and Chibvongodze combined again just before the hour mark, with the former delivering a low cross that the latter fired narrowly over the crossbar.

Dzinochekwa briefly threatened from a free kick outside the penalty area, but the Young Punters remained composed at the back to preserve their clean sheet.

Further changes saw Fabian Jacha and Nelly Gweshe introduced as the Young Punters maintained their intensity throughout the second half.

Ralph Charuma was cautioned during the closing stages as the contest became more physical.

Gary Gavheni came close to adding a spectacular fourth from a free kick, but his effort drifted just over the crossbar.

The hosts continued to move the ball with confidence, producing several slick passing combinations through Admire Mangoma, Crespo Mbiriri and Nelly Gweshe as they kept the visitors chasing.

At the other end, Fabian Jacha produced two outstanding saves in quick succession to deny Dzinochekwa, earning warm applause from the supporters.

The fourth goal finally arrived in the 88th minute when Munyaradzi Chibvongodze capped off an impressive second-half display by calmly finishing to seal an emphatic victory.

The final whistle confirmed a dominant 4-0 triumph for MWOS FC U17, extending the Young Punters’ impressive run with another complete team performance.

Speaking after the match, head coach Tendai Nyathi praised his players for maintaining the standards they had shown in recent weeks.

“We continued from where we left off last week at Chegutu where we had a good game there as well,” said Nyathi.

“We enjoy passing the ball around, and this was a good win. It’s a real booster for the boys,” he concluded.
