MWOS FC U19 Set for Home Clash Against Harare City in the Second Round

After a two-week mid-season break, MWOS FC U19 return to MCM Estates Northern Region Soccer League action on Tuesday, 4 August, when they welcome Harare City FC to MWOS Ngoni Stadium.

The fixture signals the start of the second half of the season, with both sides eager to build on their respective campaigns after 21 rounds of league action.

The Young Punters currently occupy 14th place on the standings with 26 points from 21 matches, having registered seven wins, five draws and nine defeats, while scoring 21 goals and conceding 25.

Despite their current position, the table remains incredibly tight, with just five points separating ninth-placed Jumbo Giants FC and 18th-placed PAM FC, leaving plenty to play for over the remaining fixtures.

MWOS FC U19 will also be looking to carry the confidence gained from their last outing before the mid-season break, when they produced an impressive 2-1 victory over Harare City away from home.

On that afternoon, Prosper Mawoyo proved to be the difference-maker, netting a superb brace to hand the Young Punters all three points against one of the division’s promotion contenders.

That result not only halted Harare City’s momentum but also provided MWOS FC U19 with one of their standout performances of the season heading into the league recess.

Harare City arrive for Tuesday’s encounter sitting second on the league table with 36 points, level on points with G & T Mine FC and just five points behind leaders Black Rhinos FC.

The visitors have enjoyed an impressive campaign, collecting 10 wins, six draws and five defeats from their opening 21 matches while scoring 24 goals and conceding only 12, highlighting their strength at both ends of the pitch.

With the title race entering a crucial phase, Harare City will be determined to avenge their previous defeat and keep the pressure on the league leaders.

For MWOS FC U19, Tuesday presents another opportunity to measure themselves against one of the league’s strongest sides while continuing their push up a tightly contested table.

Backed by the home support at MWOS Ngoni Stadium, the Young Punters will be aiming to complete a league double over Harare City and begin the second half of the campaign on a positive note.

Kick-off is scheduled for 1500hrs on Tuesday, 4 August, as the Young Punters look to make home advantage count in what promises to be an exciting return to league action.
