Nyabunze Makes Up for Lost Time with Imperious MWOS FC Return

Tafadzwa Nyabunze made a triumphant return to the MWOS FC starting XI last Saturday, putting in a captain’s shift to remember against Hunters FC at MWOS Ngoni Stadium.

The skipper’s last appearance in the first XI had been a frustratingly long time coming, dating back to Matchday 10 against ZPC Kariba at Nyamhunga Stadium.

After spending seven matchdays relegated to the bench, the midfield enforcer was finally handed the armband from the first whistle, and he responded by delivering a performance of supreme quality.

Nyabunze looked absolutely rock-solid in the middle of the park, dictating the tempo of the game with the kind of authority that has become his trademark.

He was instrumental in coordinating attacks from the base of the midfield, effectively acting as the team’s heartbeat throughout the ninety minutes.

The link-up play with midfield partner Clive Kwangwari was a particular highlight of the afternoon. The chemistry between the pair was evident for all to see, as they controlled the centre circle and constantly kept the visitors on the back foot.

Head Coach Lloyd Mutasa was left glowing after the full-time whistle, clearly delighted to see his leader back at his imperious best.

“You look at our captain, he has been out for a couple of games, but he came in today and put in a proper shift,” the gaffer remarked following the victory.
