Punters Turn Focus to Chibuku Super Cup
Knockout football returns to Norton this Saturday, 15 August, as we officially kick off our Chibuku Super Cup campaign. We are set to welcome our first-round opponents, Agama, to MWOS Ngoni Stadium for a 15:00 kick-off.
With preparations well underway, the boys have been putting in the hard work on the training ground. The squad has maintained absolute focus, sharpening our tactical approach, building match fitness, and fine-tuning every necessary detail ahead of the cup opener. The technical team is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the players are ready to compete at the highest possible intensity.
Head Coach Lloyd Mutasa has stressed the importance of treating Saturday’s encounter as a completely fresh challenge, ensuring that previous league encounters do not breed complacency.
“We have played against Agama at home this year and I believe we won against them,” Mutasa noted. “This is another game, a different competition, and we will not let the fact that we beat them earlier in the season get into our heads. We will give this game the maximum priority it deserves.”

We followed that up with a stellar away performance in the quarter-finals, traveling to Gibbo Stadium to secure a 3–1 victory over Bikita Minerals. While our journey ultimately ended at the semi-final stage following a 2–0 defeat to Triangle FC, coming within touching distance of the final has only fueled our hunger.
The objective this year is clear: to go one step further and make the most of the opportunity presented by this knockout competition. Cup football leaves little room for error, and Saturday provides the perfect platform to put our squad depth and renewed determination into action.
