Every point carries extra significance as the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season enters its decisive stretch, and for MWOS FC, this weekend’s trip to Bulawayo represents another opportunity to strengthen their push up the table.
The Punters head to Luveve Stadium for a Matchday 28 showdown with Chicken Inn FC, knowing that victory would not only preserve their place in the league’s top half but also keep the pressure firmly on the sides above them.

Confidence is flowing through the MWOS dressing room after an emphatic 4-1 triumph over ZPC Kariba on Matchday 27.
That convincing performance extended the club’s unbeaten league run to six matches, further underlining the resilience and consistency that have become hallmarks of the Punters in recent games.
Across 27 league fixtures, MWOS have collected nine victories, eleven draws and only seven defeats, while their healthy +6 goal difference reflects a side capable of producing quality at both ends of the pitch.
Chicken Inn, meanwhile, also arrive in confident mood after edging Dynamos FC 1-0 away from home in their last outing, ensuring the hosts will be equally determined to claim maximum points in front of their supporters.
Although this fixture is still relatively young, MWOS FC have enjoyed the upper hand.
The clubs have met only three times, and the Punters have emerged victorious on each occasion.
Their very first meeting came at Luveve Stadium on 4 May 2025, where MWOS claimed a 1-0 victory. They followed that up with a 2-1 win at MWOS Ngoni Stadium completing the league double. This season has seen the Punters make another statement with another disciplined 1-0 success on home soil.
Interestingly, every meeting between the two clubs has been settled by a single goal, highlighting just how fiercely contested this fixture has become despite MWOS’s perfect record.
Yet history alone will count for little this weekend.
