Wilson Mensah: The Man Who Keeps Delivering in Twos
Wilson Mensah is rapidly becoming one of the most in-form forwards in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League, with the MWOS FC striker enjoying a remarkable run of scoring form at the business end of the campaign.
The pattern is becoming difficult to ignore. On Matchday 24, Mensah delivered a decisive attacking display, striking twice away at Wadzanayi Stadium to earn the Punters a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Simba Bhora.
He immediately followed that up with yet another spectacular brace on Matchday 25. Returning home to MWOS Ngoni Stadium, his clinical finishing proved to be the ultimate difference as we secured a brilliant 2-0 victory over FC Platinum.
And then came ZPC Kariba. In front of the home faithful last Saturday, Mensah once again found the net twice as MWOS FC powered to an emphatic 4-1 victory.
The three braces have transformed Mensah’s recent run into a genuine purple patch. His goalscoring numbers underline the story: eight league goals this season, with his latest double further enhancing his growing reputation as one of MWOS FC’s most potent attacking outlets.
For a striker, confidence is often currency, and Mensah appears to be overflowing with it. His movement, timing and ruthless finishing have made him a constant threat in the final third, while his ability to repeatedly produce match-winning moments is precisely what separates a scorer from a difference-maker.
With the season entering a crucial phase, MWOS FC will hope Mensah can maintain this remarkable rhythm. For now, however, there is one particularly fitting description for Mensah’s current form: give him one, and he seems to want two.
