Young Punters Run Riot Against Rangers FC
MWOS FC U19 produced a dominant display at Chinhoyi Stadium, cruising to a convincing 4-0 victory over Rangers FC and securing all three points in impressive fashion.
The Young Punters started brightly and were rewarded for their attacking intent in the 17th minute when Maseko Tanaka finished from close range following a brilliant assist from Kushata Timmy.
Kushata was then at the centre of the action again in the 25th minute, calmly converting from the penalty spot after Maseko was brought down inside the box to double the advantage.
The Young Punters continued to control proceedings, with the defence also standing firm whenever Rangers threatened. Mazambani Blessing came close with a long-range effort before his header in the 42nd minute led to an own goal, giving MWOS FC a commanding 3-0 lead at the break.
The second half saw the Young Punters maintain their intensity and control. Manomano completed the scoring in the 70th minute, finding the back of the net from open play to make it 4-0.
At the other end, the Young Punters remained defensively disciplined, with Manomano making a fine save late in the game to preserve the clean sheet.
Speaking after the match, the head coach expressed his satisfaction with both the performance and the result.
“I am happy with our display. We scored four goals and conceded none and we played according to our game plan. I am happy with the result.”
